Store tools
Since its creation, Outils Océans has been designing and manufacturing ultra-resistant tool bags for sailors, built to withstand the harshest conditions. With an unbreakable semi-rigid frame, our bags resist acids, hydrocarbons, humidity, and temperature variations, while remaining easy to clean.
Our range — from compact tool pouches (COT, CO1) to versatile bags (CO2, CO3) and organized storage solutions (CO5, SD324516, SD294515) — covers all your on-board needs.
What to Store in a Marine Tool Bag?
Two schools of thought exist at sea:
- The replacement approach: carry spare parts ready to use.
- The repair approach: bring everything needed to fix problems on the spot.
For the second approach, it’s wise to think across trades — electrician, plumber, mechanic, sailmaker — but you can still put together a reasonably complete kit without turning your boat into a floating hardware store.
The Essential Trio
- Leatherman
- Duct tape
- WD-40
With this kit, some imagination, and practical sense, you can already tackle many technical issues. A more complete tool bag, however, will allow sailors to work even more efficiently. Here are the key categories to cover when assembling a coherent marine tool kit:
| 🔧 Tighten & Hold – Adjustable pliers – Small locking pliers – Small adjustable wrench | 🔩 Screw & Unscrew – Socket set – Bit set – Screwdrivers & ratchet wrench – Tap set | ✂️ Cut & Slice – Utility knife with spare blades – High-quality hacksaw blades | 🛠️ Drill & Prepare Fixings – High-quality drill bits – Diamond countersink – Compact cordless screwdriver (saves time and effort, especially in hard-to-reach areas) – Hand drill |
| ⚡ Onboard Electricals – Compact multimeter – Waterproof connectors (e.g. 3M Scotchlok™ 314) – Insulating tape | 🧪 Glues & Repairs – Strong degreaser (e.g. brake cleaner spray) – Two-component epoxy adhesive – Methacrylate adhesive – Small tubes of Sika | 📏 Measuring Tools – Tape measure – Caliper | 🔦 Useful Accessories – Work gloves (nitrile) – Zip-lock bags for storage – Hose clamps |
For Small Interventions and Emergencies
The CO1 Tool Bag is perfect for on-board interventions. Ultra-light (just 450 g), it can be carried on the shoulder or by hand. Its shock-resistant, moisture- and hydrocarbon-proof design makes it ideal for demanding marine environments. Compact yet robust, it keeps essential tools safe and easy to carry, even in confined spaces.
Designed for fast interventions in demanding conditions, the COT Belt & Thigh Tool Pouch is ideal for marine use. Compact, lightweight, and moisture-resistant, it keeps tools at hand without getting in the way. Its belt-thigh carry system ensures stability and accessibility, even in unstable conditions — such as when working at the top of the mast.

Versatile Interventions

The SD324516 Backpack

Working at Height
For aerial tasks in marine environments, the CO8 tool bag and SO252825 tool bucket provide complementary, robust, and ergonomic solutions.
The CO8 Tool Bag
Ultra-light (610 g) and compact, the CO8 can be attached to the belt, worn cross-body, or fixed directly onto a harness, ensuring total freedom of movement.
Its integrated tool slots and reinforced pockets provide excellent accessibility and secure storage, even during demanding operations.
The SO252825 Tool Bucket
The SO252825 hangs securely thanks to its fixed textile loop and offers precise storage with 15 internal tool holders, even when wearing insulated gloves.
Its square shape ensures maximum stability — unlike round buckets, it stays steady on deck and does not spin around the user at the masthead, delivering greater safety and comfort.
Additional features such as its drainage system and reflective design further enhance security in wet or low-light environments.

Installations and Refit
