Envelope Opening by Milling
Outils Océans, in partnership with Opex, the world’s leading manufacturer of mail opening and extraction equipment, presents the Omation range. Omation offers reliable envelope opening solutions featuring an innovative milling technology.
Choose the model best suited to your needs and handle incoming mail in the most efficient way. Whatever the model, we guarantee both reliability and precision. Thanks to its advanced milling technology that preserves envelope contents, the Omation range has become a benchmark in automatic mail opening.
The virtually indestructible titanium cutter trims the edge of envelopes, ensuring maximum reliability and operator safety. With an opening speed of up to 36,000 envelopes per hour on the 606 model, Omation delivers both performance and productivity. This investment quickly pays for itself and remains cost-effective in the long term.
The 210 and 410 models are compact and can be placed on any surface at least 1.20 m high. They are designed for processing volumes starting from 200 envelopes per day and up to 10 trays of envelopes per day. They can open all envelope formats up to 4.75 mm thick, at a maximum speed of 24,000 envelopes per hour. The automatic feeder adjusts to mixed mail sizes, while the output tray adapts to different envelope formats.
The 410 model features a 5.5’’ electronic display, enabling users to configure predefined tasks called “jobs” and to print inkjet markings, such as the date of receipt, an identification number for traceability, or archiving references.

The 606 model is designed for processing volumes starting at 5,000 envelopes per day. It can open all envelope formats up to 12.7 mm thick, the largest thickness available on the market! With a maximum opening speed of 36,000 envelopes per hour, it delivers unmatched performance.
By default, it comes equipped with a wide range of features and functions: automatic feeding, output conveyor, adjustable milling depth, counter, and job configuration via a touchscreen.
In addition, the 606 model offers optional sorting functions based on the following criteria: envelope thickness, length, and height. It is fitted with output trays as standard, and can optionally be equipped with a second motorized return conveyor at 90°. This enables you to automate the pre-sorting of incoming mail, for example:

- Isolating envelopes containing a single check, a coupon + one check, or a folded sheet + one check
- Isolating envelopes of specific formats, such as business reply envelopes
- Pre-sorting according to standard formats such as C6 / C5 / C4
If you wish to go further and mechanize the extraction of mail, the Model 72 Opening and Extraction Station is the solution for you.
Envelope Opening and Sorting
The 606 model offers optional sorting functions based on the following criteria: envelope thickness, length, and height. By default, it is equipped with output trays, and it can also be fitted with an optional second motorized return conveyor at 90°. This allows you to automate the pre-sorting of incoming mail, for example:
Envelope Opening and Document Extraction
If you want to go further and mechanize mail extraction, the Model 72 Opening and Extraction Station is the perfect solution.

The Model 72 combines the high-quality dual-edge milling opening system with the added feature of presenting the opened envelope directly to the operator, making extraction faster and easier. A thickness control system detects any document left inside the envelope and automatically stops the station, alerting the operator.
Thanks to its friction-feed system, the Model 72 can process mixed batches of envelopes in various formats. The workstation is fully customizable with options such as sorting trays and motorized height adjustment.
Envelope opening and extraction can also be seamlessly combined with digitization, using the Falcon range.
Automated Mail Sorting
In partnership with manufacturer Opex, Outils Océans introduces MailMatrix, the world’s only solution for automated mixed-mail sorting.
With MailMatrix, process your mail like never before… Its state-of-the-art technology replicates human work with speed and precision, thanks to intelligent wireless iBot® conveyor robots.
In a single pass, you can handle a wide variety of formats, sorting criteria, and destinations — from 30 up to 1,088 destinations.
The reading module recognizes addressing characters and/or barcodes, then interfaces with the database to determine the sorting destination. Its vertical design with a double row of compartments provides a significant space-saving advantage. The configuration is fully scalable, with the possibility of adding case modules or trays, as well as additional video-coding stations.
For even greater efficiency, Outils Océans shuttle bags can be positioned directly at the machine output as a replacement for trays.
